The first place we are going to visit is The Monastery of Santa Catalina, which is a sample of four centuries of Arequipa’s architecture; it has narrow streets, cloisters full of colorful flowers and painted walls. The narrow alleys lead to the different parts of the convent, they go through picturesque places with the original furniture. It’s like travel through time.
Then we will visit the Plaza de Armas, one of the most beautiful in Peru, the Jesuit Church of the Company, which its beautiful facade shows the so-called “mestizo architecture”, its cloisters and cupola, the House of Tristán del Pozo. For having a magnificent view of the city, we will visit the viewpoint of Carmen Alto, in this place we will be able to appreciate in all its fullness the three tutelary volcanoes that surround the city of Arequipa, as well as pre-Inca terraces that are still cultivated by the farmers. Finally we will go to the district of Yanahuara with its famous portals that are a set of beautiful sillar arches built during the 19th century.
